In August, the decline of industrial raw coal production above designated scale narrowed, the growth of crude oil and electric power production accelerated, and natural gas production slowed down.

The decline in raw coal production narrowed.

In August, 330 million tons of raw coal were produced, down 0.1 percent year on year and 3.6 percentage points narrower than the previous month.

The average daily output was 10.51 million tons, an increase of 250,000 tons.

From January to August, the production of raw coal reached 2.45 billion tons, down 0.1 percent year on year.

 

The decline in coal imports continued to widen.

In August, coal imports reached 20.66 million tons, down 5.44 million tons month-on-month and 37.3 percent year-on-year, or 16.7 percentage points higher than last month.

From January to August, coal imports reached 220 million tons, up 0.2% year on year.

 

Port coal comprehensive trading prices continued to fall.

On August 28, the coal prices at Qinhuangdao Port were RMB551, RMB497 and RMB442 per ton respectively, down by RMB4, RMB6 and RMB6, respectively, compared with July 31.

 

Crude oil production accelerated and processing slowed.

In August, crude oil production reached 16.65 million tons, up 2.3% year on year and 1.7 percentage points higher than that of the previous month.

The processed crude oil reached 59.47 million tons, up 9.2 percent, 3.2 percentage points slower than the previous month.

From January to August, crude oil production reached 13.15 million tons, up 1.5% year on year;

Crude oil processing totaled 440 million tons, up 3.2% year on year.

 

Crude oil import growth slowed down, and international crude oil prices rose slightly.

In August, the import of crude oil was 47.48 million tons, up 12.6 percent year on year, and the growth rate was 12.4 percentage points lower than that of the previous month.

From January to August, imports of crude oil reached 370 million tons, up 12.1% year on year.
